3M™ Neutral Series · sun control window film · installed by Epic
Even grey outside. Cooler light inside.
Dual-reflective, neutral-grey films — the workhorse of commercial sun control, with a uniform exterior and a softer interior reflection.
The Neutral Series is the commercial standard for a reason. A dual-reflective construction puts a uniform neutral-grey face toward the street and a lower-reflection surface toward the room, so tenants keep their view out at night and the building reads as one finish from the curb. Four shades cover everything from a light touch to strong glare control and daytime privacy.
- Multi-tenant office elevations
- Buildings that need daytime privacy
- Glare complaints on east and west glass
- Budget-driven energy retrofits
3M Neutral rating
What it does, and where it belongs.
Neutral films are dual-reflective: the exterior surface is more reflective for a uniform facade and daytime privacy, the interior surface is less reflective so views out stay clear after dark. The tone is a true neutral grey — no bronze, no blue — which is why facility managers choose it to hide the patchwork of blinds and window treatments on a multi-tenant elevation without making the glass look tinted from inside.
Why people choose 3M Neutral
- Uniform facade: Hides blinds, clutter and mismatched window treatments behind one even grey exterior.
- Softer interior: Dual-reflective: lower reflection on the room side than the street side, so views out stay clear after dark.
- Heat and glare: Up to 62% of total solar energy rejected and glare cut by up to 83%.
- Value: Proven film chemistry at a lower cost per square foot than the non-metallic lines.
- UV protection: Blocks up to 99% of UV.

Rendering is computed from the film’s published optical values applied only to the glass in each photo (clear-glass baseline: 88% VLT, 8% exterior reflectance). This is a simulation; actual appearance varies with glass type, sun angle and shade — we put real samples on your real glass before you decide.
