3M™ Prestige Exterior Series · sun control window film · installed by Epic

Stop the heat before it reaches the glass.

Prestige performance applied to the outside of the glass — for dual-pane, tinted, laminated and hard-to-reach lites that cannot take interior film.

Some glass should not be filmed from the inside: tinted or laminated units, older dual-pane with thermal-stress risk, atrium and skylight lites nobody can reach. Prestige Exterior puts the same non-metallic, multi-layer optical film on the outside of the glass, so the solar energy is rejected before it ever enters the unit. Five shades, from a virtually invisible 90 to a strong-glare-control 20.

3M Prestige Exterior rating

Visible light transmission★★★★★Low reflection★★★★★Heat rejection★★★★☆

What it does, and where it belongs.

Prestige Exterior is 3M’s exterior-rated version of the Prestige optical film: a weatherable hard coat and adhesive engineered for direct sun, rain and wind, with the same metal-free construction — no mirror, no corrosion, no signal interference. Because the heat is stopped at the outer surface, an exterior shade rejects more solar energy than its interior equivalent and keeps the glass itself cooler, which is exactly what thermally sensitive insulated units need.

Why people choose 3M Prestige Exterior

  • Heat stopped outside: Rejects up to 66% of total solar energy at the outer surface, so the glass runs cooler and the load never enters the building.
  • Fits the glass you have: Exterior application sidesteps the thermal-stress limits of interior film on tinted, laminated and some insulated units.
  • Virtually clear options: Prestige 90 Exterior keeps 88% of visible light; from the street the building looks untouched.
  • No mirror, no signal loss: Non-metallic: low reflectivity and no interference with Wi-Fi, cellular or building systems.
  • UV protection: Blocks 99.9% of UV to slow fading of finishes, furnishings and merchandise.

Which glass this film is approved for

Prestige Exterior is the film Epic specifies when interior application is ruled out by glass type or access: tinted and laminated glass, many insulated units, skylights, sloped glazing and curtainwall that cannot be reached from inside. Epic crews apply it from lifts and swing stages with the same precision-cut kits as any interior job. Glass type, orientation and thermal-stress compatibility are confirmed at the free survey, and the 3M exterior warranty terms are stated on the proposal. Run your building through Epic’s facility energy analysis to see the payback for your glass.

What sets 3M Prestige Exterior apart
