Window graphics · storefront, perforated one-way vision, lettering and decals

Window graphics that work as hard as the storefront.

Window graphics are printed images, lettering and decals applied to glass: storefront branding, hours, promotions, perforated one-way vision film, logos and wayfinding. Epic designs them with you, prints them on 3M media at VisuFlare, our sister large-format studio in McKinney, and installs them with the same certified crews that install our window film, for retail, restaurants, offices, healthcare and schools, nationwide.

What are window graphics?

Window graphics are anything printed for glass: a storefront image, a logo, store hours, a promotion, a perforated graphic you can see out through, a mascot on a school entry. They turn glass into the hardest-working sign on the building, seen by everyone who walks or drives past.

Window graphics are one part of Epic’s environmental graphics work, alongside wall murals, floor graphics and wayfinding. If you want a manufactured pattern or texture rather than your own artwork, see decorative window film; for plain privacy glass, see frosted window film.

Choosing what goes on the glass

Window graphics, decorative film or frost?

Three different products, often on the same building. The question is whether the glass should carry your message, a designed pattern, or simply privacy.

School and secure-entry glass

Window graphics over security film

More schools and public buildings have security film on the glass, and the graphics still have to go somewhere. Epic applies mascots, room numbers, entry numbers and decals over the film on film-safe media, so changing a graphic never puts the film underneath at risk.

One crew can do the whole entry: the security film, then the graphics over it. See graphics over security film and the school safety program.

FAQ

Window graphics questions

What are window graphics?
Window graphics are printed images, lettering or decals applied to glass: storefront branding, hours, promotions, perforated one-way vision film, logos and wayfinding. Epic designs them with you, prints them on 3M media at VisuFlare, our sister large-format studio in McKinney, and installs them with Epic crews nationwide.
What is perforated window film (one-way vision)?
A printed graphic on perforated film: it reads from the street and stays see-through from inside, so the people inside still see out. Like any one-way effect, it works when the outside is brighter than the inside.
What is the difference between window graphics and decorative window film?
Window graphics are printed: your logo, your photo, your message, in full color. Decorative window film is a manufactured pattern or texture, such as the 3M Fasara gradients, stripes and fabric looks. Many projects use both. See decorative window film and frosted window film.
How long do window graphics last?
Exterior window graphics typically carry 3–5 year durability depending on exposure; interior graphics are out of the weather. Epic selects the 3M media for each surface and exposure and tells you the expected service life before anything prints.
Can window graphics go on glass that has security film?
Yes, when they are done right. Epic applies graphics, room numbers and decals over security film on film-safe media so the film underneath stays intact when the graphic changes. See graphics over security film.
Do you design window graphics or only install them?
Both. Send finished artwork from your agency and Epic will prepress, proof, print and install it. Or send a logo and a brief and Epic designs it with you, with renderings on photos of your own storefront before anything prints.
What do commercial window graphics cost?
It depends on the square footage, the media, whether Epic designs the artwork, the number of locations, and access such as lifts or after-hours work. Epic gives a firm number after measuring. See Epic’s cost guide for the drivers.
Are window graphics removable?
Yes. Window graphics come off cleanly later, when the promotion, tenant or brand changes.
Can you put our business hours on the door glass?
Yes. Business name, hours, phone, suite numbers and door lettering are printed in your brand fonts and colors and installed by Epic crews.
Can you do matching window graphics for multiple locations?
Yes. Epic produces one-off graphics or a matched set for every location, printed on 3M media at VisuFlare and proofed against your brand colors.
Are window decals the same as window graphics?
A decal is one kind of window graphic: a logo, a promotion, an accessibility or safety notice, or a payment or certification mark. Window graphics also include full-window storefront images, lettering and perforated one-way film.
Can you put our mascot on school windows?
Yes. Mascots, school colors, room numbers and entry wayfinding go on front-office, vestibule and classroom glass, including over security film already installed, on film-safe media.
